Tiny House Communities
Spur, Texas "America's First Tiny House Friendly Town".

This west Texas town of around 1,000 people set out to become a place where you can "build or bring your dream
house no matter the size and set it on a foundation on a regular city lot and live the way you choose."   So in 2014
they passed ordinances that made it easier for people that shared the dream of tiny house living to buy a lot and
purchase or build their home.

Located a little over an hour from Lubbock, this may be the perfect town to begin your tiny house lifestyle with
supportive, like minded people around you.  Also, just 4 miles outside of the city of Spur is a neighborhood of
intentionally tiny communities called Makerton.

Lots in Makerton and Spur are very affordable and potential "new pioneers" are welcomed to come and visit to decide
if they would like to be a part of the community.  The last time I checked the jSpur, Texas Website they had sold 60
lots, 11 new tiny houses and welcomed 26 new pioneers in town.

The Village of Wildflowers
This is a 26 acre tiny home community in Flat Rock, NC.  They have tiny homes for sale as a primary residence or
vacation home.  Also available for rent.  If you have never been to this area it is beautiful mountainous country in
North Carolina, just about a half hour south of Asheville.  There are numerous activities in the area in the summer
including hiking, fishing, zip lining and more.  And in the winter it is located close to some great skiing.

Little River Escape Tiny House Community
This is a private gated community of tiny houses in Lookout Mountain Georgia on the Little River.  The community
even includes a common guest house and pool.  There are all kinds of activities available in the area including hiking,
floating down the river, fishing, exploring the caves and waterfalls in the area and more.

Even though the community has all this great nature surrounding it, you are actually not that far from some fairly
decent urban areas as well.  These tiny houses are located in the north western corner of Georgia near the
Tennessee border, so it is only about an hour to Chattanooga, an hour and 45 minutes to Atlanta and just about 2
hours to Birmingham, AL.

Like most tiny house communities, they offer weekend tours and also offer prospective buyers a chance to rent one of
their models for a night or two to see how they like it.
